Congo Ebola death toll reaches at least 930 as attacks hinder response

The Congo Ministry of Health reported that at least 930 people have died from the Ebola outbreak, out of 2,344 confirmed cases as of Saturday. Thirty‑seven new deaths were recorded in a single 24‑hour period, one of the highest daily totals. The outbreak, caused by the less common Bundibugyo virus, has no approved vaccine or treatment. Security concerns in the Ituri province, including at least 12 attacks on health facilities, have hampered response efforts, and 36 infected health workers have died. Around 724 patients remain in isolation while health workers protest unpaid wages.
