US Launches Eighth Night of Strikes on Iran After Service Members Killed in Jordan

The United States carried out its eighth consecutive night of airstrikes against Iran after two U.S. service members were killed and a third went missing following an Iranian attack in Jordan. CENTCOM said the strikes targeted Iranian coastal surveillance, air‑defence facilities and other IRGC assets to degrade Tehran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded with drone and missile attacks on U.S. bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, and Saudi Arabia issued early‑warning alerts for its residents. The U.S. death toll in the conflict has risen to 16, with more than 420 wounded, while Iranian health officials report over 50 civilian deaths from recent U.S. strikes. The fighting threatens global oil flows through the Hormuz corridor and has prompted a worldwide travel advisory for Americans.
